Please take a moment, now if you have it, to do a search for a video called "When I Die: Lessons from the Death Zone." It is a short, beautiful film that you will be glad to have watched. The notion of living each day as your last has been repeated so many times over that, unfortunately, it has lost its potency as a vital life strategy--this short clip may bring some of that potency back.
In the background, I have jazz playing--Dexter Gordon to be exact. Jazz took me a long time to warm up to, but I now count it as my music of choice for any work sessions. If you want to check him out, I recommend Go or Gettin' Around. An acquired taste probably, but worth the effort.
