Day two of The Routine, 21 days to make it a habit. Let's go get it...
Morning Spark: Fruit punch (yum)
Morning music: Jeremy Camp
Morning reading: The book of Matthew
Since I started this blog a couple days ago, I've been thinking constantly about purpose, THE Question I (and you, I suspect) ask constantly: Why am I here? For whatever reason, God has razor-sharpened mine over the past 48 hours:
1. To be a source of light to as many people as possible (Matthew 5:14-16)
2. To accept and receive the direction that God presents and have the courage and discipline to follow through with the execution of that direction
Being a light to others takes the focus--and thus, the pressure--off myself. Saying "yes" and being open to new ideas and possibilities is more fun and freeing than saying "no" all the time, and it reaps more rewards.
Today's challenge(s):
1. Take a moment to consider your own purpose--why you are here, and how God wants to use you. Write some stuff down, shape it into something catchy... And then, perform an action today that forwards that purpose. DO SOMETHING to help it along!
2. Be the light in the life of someone today.
The New Year is almost here, but the new day is here right now.
Viewing suggestion: If you're off work this afternoon, check out the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, 1:00 on ESPN. Get to watch some college football and hear more about an awesome company.
