Tonight's Album, The Day In Review

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles: I am a lifelong Beatles fan, and this is their most important--not their best, and not even my favorite--album. Outside of its massive cultural influence--of which most of the readership is too young to recall--the album is a musical wonder, gliding through a variety of styles and tempos and being colored by seemingly every instrument under the sun. The musical equivalent of a carnival, and just more fun to listen to than a lot of things I've heard. "A Day in the Life" is among their best; this version of "Getting Better" is way better than the dreaded treatment it gets in commercials.

Today has been a fantastic day. Slowly, I am getting more and more feedback on this blog, and I am pleased to hear that those reading it are not just enjoying it, but also growing and feeling inspired. Glory to God for his direction on the content.

Had a very productive AdvoCare day today--a wonderful company going in an awesome direction when it comes to helping others. If you are reading this and don't how what AdvoCare is, please contact me--you'll be glad you did. January 1st was the top sales day in company history, a great tone setter for what is coming in 2013. My focus here is to keep my emphasis on using it to help and bless others, just as it has done for me. And I work with great people in AdvoCare who challenge me and hold my accountable to some very high standards (more about them in the coming days...).

And a tough loss for the Illini at Purdue. Going on the road to shoot the ball poorly and give up a high number of offensive rebounds is a formula for defeat. No rest for the weary, Ohio State rolling into town on Saturday.

Many thanks to God today:

  • For my prayer and scripture time with my kids this morning
  • For a prosperous day of business
  • For health and a good morning of exercise at the gym
  • For my friend Jacob's safe arrival after a long day of travel
  • For a wonderful AdvoCare team call tonight with Brent and Jess
  • For great phone interactions with great friends, especially Luke, Steve, Jared, and Jeremy
Freeing to name the blessings of a day from time to time as acknowledgement that they are great in number.
