So Far, So Good

This is Day #9 for the blog--it is exciting to have pushed through the initial creation phase to the point where I wake each day ready and expecting to post something.

I've posted several personal challenges on here so far, and each of them have been meaningful to me. What I don't want is to execute each of those once or twice but then let them fall away without having a lasting impact. So I thought it might be a good time to quickly review what those have been so far, so we can all see how we are doing with those. Or for those of you reading for the first time or two, you can catch up...

1. Taking a moment within the day to reconnect with people we may have fallen out of contact with. It occurred to me that when I do this, maybe I'm the only positive text or phone call that person might have heard or gotten that day.

2. Having a fixed morning routine. To review, mine looks like this:

  • Feet hit the floor when my eyes open
  • Morning Spark (AdvoCare)
  • Positive music (Shawn McDonald this morning)
  • 15 minutes of reading per my phone timer
This approach has improved the quality of my entire day since I started it.

3. Taking time to examine and identify God's purpose for our lives, and putting action to that purpose. A daily matter, to be sure.

4. Looking at a problem in our lives as an opportunity to submit ourselves to God and let him grow us stronger so that we might overcome it and improve from it.

5. Incorporating proper amount of rest into our daily lives. One that I have to give constant, daily attention.

6. Saying only kind things to others and to ourselves.

7. Eliminating one undesirable habit from our lives and replacing with a favorable one.

8. Using one of our God-given strengths or qualities to bless the life of someone else.

Quite a list as it turns out. For my challenge today, I'll take a moment to look back over it and where I am with each one of them. Thankfully, I am already out of the chute with the morning routine one, on the heels of having a great night's sleep. Seven more to go.... Have a great day, everyone.
