Problems Are Our Friends

The morning routine hit a little bump this morning--stayed up too late, woke up too late, but made it to my partner workout with Downsy just in time. Downsy is Brandon Downs, one of the coolest cats you'd ever want to meet, and a great workout partner. Tomorrow is a chance to get the AM routine right again... I do feel invigorated from the morning's exercise at least--thanks for the workout, BD!

I got an awesome text from a close friend this morning that really set the right tone for my day, so let's see if it sets a great tone for your day too--it went something like this:

It's easy for us to feel defeated when we encounter problems, but we can use those problems to grow stronger and develop qualities that will help us and make us stronger going forward. We cannot be overcomers without problems to overcome. Our toughest times can improve us if we stay true to God in the midst of those.

What a message--taking our problems and seeing them as an opportunity to grow in our relationship with God and improve as people. It's a simple message that I've heard before, but it can be profound if it is actually applied. I am in application mode--I want to apply this powerful concept to my life today. And I am blessed that my friend shared it with me this morning.

Today's challenge: Take a problem in your life and examine it closely. Ask God to help you look at it in a unique way--to see it as an opportunity to overcome it and emerge as a better and stronger person on the other side of it.
