Mixing It Up

Want to start this evening's post with thanks to God for a stronger day of fasting today than my first time out last Monday. I felt peaceful and sustained throughout the day.

Also enjoyed the wonderful weather with a good run this morning--25 minutes under unusually warm conditions felt awesome today. And had a great afternoon lift with my T3 buddy Luke Halls. In the past couple of months, it's been a breath of fresh air to slow down once in a while and do some extra strength work. We spent some time today on some supersets of bench press and chinups, and enjoyed some excellent fellowship in the process--lots of thanks to Luke for inviting and including me for that.

It has been so gratifying to be able to do some many different fitness things over the past few years. I am truly blessed to be able to do some of the things I am doing--running longer distances, lifting heavy weight, completing difficult metabolic workouts. I owe a great debt to the smart fitness people who've helped me so much (Clay, Tuck, Luke, and Brian Chandler, just to name a few) and to the great AdvoCare products that have kept me energetic and helped me recover so well. I can honestly say that as I approach 40, I am as excited about my fitness and abilities as I've ever been. I guess today was a snapshot of that.
