Make Today Great

I am thrilled to be opening this blog at a point in my life where I am looking to make the most of every moment. I don't care that it coincides with New Year's Resolution season.... I am thrilled to be creating this and putting it out at the time of year where people's minds are most open to change and new ideas. Having said that, today's thought is about making the most of today:

"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." --Psalm 90:12

This particular psalm calls us to number, and therefore realize the fleeting value in, each individual day, treating it as its own invaluable gift. Each of us is capable of achieving exactly what we want in our lives, and we can start by treating time as our most precious and irreplaceable commodity. How many hours did you give away today that were of no contribution to your dreams or impending greatness? If it was more than you care to admit, that's okay... Don't let it happen again tomorrow. I plan to christen this blog with some meditation on time allotment--hope that you find it beneficial.

Reading suggestion: 20,000 Days and Counting, Robert D. Smith. An awesome (and time-friendly) meditation on the value of the moment and the day. I read it in about 90 minutes.

Today's challenge: Call (not text) a friend and see how he/she is doing. Reconnect and bring some joy into that person's day or night.
