A day after the NFL's regular season finale ruled the airwaves, today is a tasty buffet of college hoops. Watching Indiana and Iowa duke it out now, looking forward to Gonzaga-OK State and Harvard-St. Mary's this evening. My version of ideal New Year's entertainment...
Got into a gym this afternoon to get some shots in for a little conditioning. Shot it pretty well for having the ball out of my hands for six months. My mid-range shots felt good--the 3's at the end exposed my legs and release point a little, but I pulled it together for a strong finish. Felt good to see a few go through the net, humbled that I am still physically able to do that.
Been an interesting day of trying to stick to kindness only. Faced some obstacles and temptation in the morning hours (including nearly being backed into by a truck), then got some return kindness and encouragement throughout the afternoon. Great reminder of Satan's power and deception--he isn't happy and doesn't go quietly when we try to carry out God's will in our lives.
Prayers to the men and their families who lost their jobs in the NFL today--we are entitled to our opinions about their performance, but never easy to see anyone lose his job.
